  • Dr Manny Austin  image Dr Manny Austin

    MB, BS, MRCGP, DRCOG

    Qualified London 1988

    Dr Manuela Austin joined us in 1995 as a GP Partner. She is actively involved in our local Commissioning Group and shares the lead GP role for the Brixham & Paignton Locality, helping design services that meet the needs of local people. Dr Austin enjoys running and cycling and is particularly proud of twice completing the half iron man challenge.

    MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG,DCH, CME

    Qualified Bristol, 1994

    Born in Wales (so obviously supports them in the rugby!) and spent part of her childhood in Canada before moving back to Brixham. Outside work enjoys exploring Devon with her dogs, travelling and since the pandemic gardening.

    Areas of special interest include women’s health, paediatrics and palliative care and is one of the practice’s GP trainers. Dr Kew is Appraisal Lead for GPs and Responsible Officers for NHS England Southwest and passionate about ensuring doctors remain up to date and fit to practice in order to ensure good patient care.

    I have recently moved to Devon with my family. In my free time I enjoy trail running and road cycling. I have a young son who I love spending time with when I’m not working. I’m really enjoying exploring the South West Costal path and the outdoor lifestyle which was come with the move to the South West. My specialist interest at work is women’s health.

    Dr Norman’s specialist interests are women & children’s health as well as international medicine following a childhood growing up overseas. She has also herself worked in Australia as a GP. In her own time she loves cooking, flower arranging & time outdoors with her family.

    Born in Torbay, still living in Torbay, hobbies include surfing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai.

  • Dr Kyle Stewart image Dr Kyle Stewart

    Dr Stewart is a GP in South Devon as well as CEO and co-founder of Watercress Research Ltd. He holds an Honorary Clinical Associate Research Fellowship in Theoretical Medicine at The University of Exeter, alongside an NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur Fellowship, and a separate Mid Essex, Southend & Basildon Medical Innovation Fellowship. He is the President of Torbay & District Medical Society and came runner-up in 2019’s National GP Trainee of the year award. He has a consultancy company, and works as an out of hours GP for Devon Docs as part of the 111 service. 

  • Dr Michael Philpott image Dr Michael Philpott

    With a particular interest in medical education, Dr Philpott is one of the practice’s medical student supervisors and works as a facilitator and academic tutor at Plymouth University. Areas of special interest includes care of older adults.

    Outside of work enjoys scuba diving (ideally in warmer climates!) especially wreck diving, and chilling with his cat Jeff.

    Dr Bill Nolan joined Corner Place Surgery following the merger with Withycombe Lodge Surgery in June 2017. Dr Nolan is a GP Trainer and Appraiser. He is married with 4 children and in his spare time he enjoys hillwalking and family time.

    Dr Simon Tsang re-joined Corner Place Surgery in October 2016 having previously been at the practice as a GP trainee. His special interests include general medicine, education and training. He is married and enjoys sports, music and exploring the great outdoors.

    Qualified London 1995

    Dr Cubitt has a special interest in women's and children's health and dementia. When she's not working Dr Cubitt enjoys country walks, zumba, and studying theology.

  • Isobel Knight ANP image Isobel Knight ANP

    Isobel qualified as a RGN in 1991, working at Torbay Hospital in Intensive Care/ Coronary Care; Ear Nose and Throat; Primary care as a District Nurse Specialist practitioner/ Practice teacher, then as a Community matron for 10 years. 

     She joined Corner Place in 2017 as a nurse practitioner, successfully completing a PgDip in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2020. She enjoys all aspects of general practice but especially caring for older people with long term conditions, including dementia care and COPD, and supporting people approaching the end of their lives.

    When not working as an ANP she enjoys spending time with her husband, and her labradoodle, walking and exploring in her camper van.

  • Chris Reynolds ANP

Our Nursing Team

Advanced nurse practitioners (ANP's) are experienced nurses who have undertaken additional training at Masters level in Patient assessment, diagnosis and they can prescribe relevant medications as required.

We have five Practice Nurses who specialise in supporting patients with chronic diseases. This includes asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc. Patients with these conditions are invited to attend for review at least annually.

Practice nurses also run childhood immunisation, travel, and cervical smear clinics. They assist doctors in minor surgery procedures. 

Our Healthcare Assistant carries out healthchecks, blood pressure monitoring and can help with smoking cessation advice. He also does blood tests.

Our Phlebotomist does blood tests and blood pressure monitoring.
