What does a Health Visitor do? Check this out...

Your health visitor is a specialist, there to help you tackle any concerns and questions that you have about your baby or pre-school child, and how to deal with a variety of situations that you may not necessarily feel equipped for.

When a baby is born, he or she is entitled to a range of routine health checks and tests in the first six weeks. These include a physical examination, a hearing test and a blood test (taken from the baby's heel)

The UK Baby Friendly Initiative is linked to UNICEF and the World Health Organization. It is designed to support breastfeeding and parent infant relationships. Includes leaflets (in all languages) on breast and bottle feeding, weaning and "building a happy baby"

Breastfeeding lowers your risk of getting breast and ovarian cancer, saves loads of money and can help to build a strong bond between you and your baby.
